FeedBoss AI Extension User Guide

Welcome to the FeedBoss AI Extension! This guide will help you get set up and start generating authentic, high-quality LinkedIn comments in seconds.

🌟 Introduction​

FeedBoss AI helps you engage faster and grow your network by generating thoughtful, human-sounding comments. It analyzes the post content, author profile, and your own persona to create value-driven responses, not just generic "Great post!" comments.

🚀 Installation​

FeedBoss AI is available directly from the Chrome Web Store.

  1. Visit the Store Page: Go to the FeedBoss AI Extension page on the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Add to Chrome: Click the Add to Chrome button.
  3. Confirm: Click Add extension in the pop-up confirmation.
  4. Pin It: For easy access, click the "Puzzle" icon in your browser toolbar and pin FeedBoss.

🔑 Getting Started & Configuration​

Before using the extension, you need to connect it to an AI provider. Click the FeedBoss extension icon in your toolbar to open the settings.

Choose Your Connection Mode​

You have two options to power the AI:

Use this if you have a FeedBoss account or subscription.

  1. Click the extension icon → Settings & Personas.
  2. Select "Hosted Service" mode.
  3. Follow the prompts to sign in.

Option B: Bring Your Own Key​

Use this if you want to use your own personal OpenAI API key.

  1. Click the extension icon → Settings & Personas.
  2. Select "Bring Your Own Key" mode.
  3. Enter your OpenAI API Key (get one at platform.openai.com).

⚙️ Customizing Your Persona​

Make the AI sound like you by configuring your persona settings.

  • Industry/Niche: Enter your field (e.g., "SaaS Marketing", "Frontend Development"). This helps the AI use relevant terminology.
  • Your Role: Enter your job title (e.g., "Founder", "Product Manager").
  • Tone Preferences: Select styles that match your voice (Casual, Professional, Direct, etc.).
  • Writing Samples: (Highly Recommended) Paste 3-5 examples of comments you've written in the past. The AI learns your unique style ("few-shot learning") to make generated comments indistinguishable from your own writing.

📝 How to Use​

  1. Navigate to LinkedIn: Go to linkedin.com and find a post you want to engage with.
  2. Click "Comment": Click the "Comment" button on the post to open the text box.
  3. Look for the Magic Button: You will see a ✨ (Sparkle) icon inside or near the comment box.
  4. Select a Stance: Choose how you want to respond:
    • Agreeing: Add evidence or a similar experience to support the author.
    • Contrarian: Respectfully offer a different perspective.
    • Inquisitive: Ask a relevant, open-ended question to spark debate.
    • Supportive: Offer simple, positive validation with a personal touch.
  5. Generate: Click the button. The AI will read the post and draft a comment.
  6. Review & Post: Read the comment, make any final tweaks, and hit Post.

❓ Troubleshooting​

The FeedBoss button isn't showing up.

  • Refresh the LinkedIn page.
  • Click inside the "Add a comment..." text box to ensure it's active.
  • Check chrome://extensions/ to make sure FeedBoss is enabled.

I get an "API key not configured" error.

  • Click the extension icon in your toolbar and ensure you have either signed in (Hosted Service) or entered a valid API key (BYO Key).

The comment didn't appear in the box.

  • Sometimes LinkedIn's text editor behaves unexpectedly. Try generating again, or if the comment appears in a popup/alert, copy and paste it manually.
